There was a transformer that exploded with a loud "BANG" a few blocks north of us. That was 11am. After that the power went out and my computers' battery backup system was beeping so I realized what just happened. The electric company didn't fix the grid until 9pm, so we had a low energy night. I think we ought to have more of these.

I agree, sometimes I think it's a blessing when the power goes out!
