Harvest Updates April

Trying some broad beans to see if they are ready.  I cooked them and they had the texture of early peas, so nope, not ready yet!
This is the last of the Navel Oranges for the season!
Such lovely carrots!
Bad focus, sorry. NZ spinach is yummy in almost anything
Cilantro...actually getting tired of it! Gave a bunch away to neighbors even.
Some first harvests from the Brassica bed.
Celery: We tried blanching a few of the stalks the middle to make the flavor less harsh. We used newspapers and wrapped them around the stem. Unfortunately, that just encouraged the slugs to make it a 5 star hotel. So we've unwrapped them, and we're gonna tough it out with the harder flavor. It's probably more healthier for us to eat the darker greens anyhow.
A great harvest: Cilantro, Lettuce, Komatsuna, Radishes, Carrots, Strawberries and Kumquats still on the branches (Mom said she needed to prune the tree to encourage new blossoms)
Strawberries are coming in so fast right now. These are just from the front garden
More celery, right before being chopped up for Chicken pot pie.
