Harvest Updates Oct 9th ~ Oct 20th

The Summer Crops are nearing their end, the harvests are only every other day now. I do have some younger tomato plants that have lots of small green tomatoes, but we'll see how the weather holds up. So far it's very warm during the day, but rather chilly at nights. The cukes are pretty much through, they don't last very long. I think Cukes are best planted in 2 week staggerings of 3 plants or so for our own needs. We do have some big changes coming, we have decided to move back to my Mom's place to help her out, this coming January. This means big changes for the garden. Unfortunately, all the lovely raised beds we've worked on so hard will have to be dismantled, and lawn will have to be grown again in place of those productive little plots. I'm saddened by the loss of that, but at least my Mom's land is very fertile, so we are making preparations for a winter garden in her yard right now. And slowly converting our yard back to the average American Suburban plain 'ol lawnscapes ...sigh
