Homegrown Meals, No Sugar Strawberry Jam

Homegrown meals, this isn't everything we've eaten through the week, since mealtimes are the busiest times.
Here's a meal with homegrown Zukes, Komatsuna, Carrots and Shungiku. The fried smelt is in potato starch batter, that was store-bought.
Bibimbap without the seasoned ground turkey
(it wasn't finished in time for this pic and I was really hungry)

"Potato" Salad with HG Potatoes, Sun-chokes, Carrots, Cucumbers. Also, eggs from Farmer's Market, and store-bought mayo.  The Sun-chokes aren't to obtrusive if eaten this way.
No Sugar Jam with Stevia and pectin

Been busy! More Strawberry Jam canning, Komatsuna pickling, and seed starting some onion and more Lupini beans.
HG Seri in the rice, HG Garlic Chives, Carrots and Sun-chokes in the stir-fry

Preserving and Meals

OK, so I wasn't the only one that was experiencing the pics not showing up.  It's a glitch between Picasa's "Blog This" and Blogger.  I figured out a work-around, although it's more tedious.

Here, I'm starting a batch of strawberry jam, the colors are sooo vibrant!
Here's a batch for one day
Dinner: It's taco night! Homegrown cilantro in the guacamole and garnishing the ground turkey, lettuce on the side and homegrown canned tomatoes in the ground turkey. The guacamole is made from gifted local avocados. Dessert; , strawberries... Yummy!

A lovely after-school snack: Fresh Strawberries and canned Loquats on home-made soy-yogurt.

Harvests and Canning

The rains caused lots of guavas to crack their tender skins, so off they came from the tree. Some went to neighbors as gifts and others ended up in preserves.
